Thank you for sharing with us such that special inspiring woman that was a part of who you are today.

I hope that I have inspired my children the way you were inspired by your Mom or other special lady in your life.

Thanks too for making this an almost impossible task of just picking 5 from all of these remarkable women.

    Hugs

My mother is my inspiration for sure. She has 7 kids, 3 husbands and she is still going strong. She has been with my dad now for 16 years and it has been a roller coaster ride of a lifetime. A year ago this past December my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 throat and neck cancer. He missed worked for almost a year. My mom does home health she has been doing this for the past 20 years, she took care of my dad went to work and she is the one that did all of the doctor appointments etc. She doesnt have time for herself at all and that saddens me as she is the strongest person I have ever met in my life.
She wanted to give up plenty of times but the dear lord gave her strength to hold on. My dad just had his last pet scan and he is cancer free... wohooooo. My mother never cried so much in her life when she called me on the phone last week to tell me the good news. God is good and I thank God for my mother, she is my rock that i lean on and my shoulder to cry on. :) Thank you mom!

The woman in my life who influenced me was my grandma. She was a strong woman, but loving, caring and God was most important in her life.
It was typical of her to serve supper to strangers, she always cooked enough. She helped anyone she knew and didnt know. Every saturday her 6 sons had breakfast with her. Her family was utmost important. She taught me the importance of loving God. She read the bible to me and often took me to church with her. Although I never met my grandpa, I know he must have felt very lucky to have such a beautiful warm and loving lady in his life.

Back in October 2008 i was working in Tucson, Az. I didnt feel well so i got my boss to take me to the emergency room. After all these tests i found out i had a mass on my ovary. Surgery on Monday. Well when i woke up from the anesthesia the Doctor told me i had ovarian cancer. I called my friend Brenda in Phoenix. I had met her and her hubby on the internet only 2 years prior and only met them once. She was at the hospital within 2 hours. She stayed the week and took me back to Phoenix where i stayed for about 8 months. SHe took care of me, took me to my chemotheraphy nursed me when i was so sick i could bearly walk. She not only inspired me she saved my life. If it was not for her i would of gone back to Colorado and died.

M Mom is the inspiring women in my life. My mom being a loving lady who opens her heart and home to anyone, a person that is there for me when ever I need her, my mom is the best, my mom brough me up along with my older sister and brother, dad was not around a whole lot so mom was my mom and dad at the same time. Mom made me the person I am today, a kind hearted person, I would give the shirt off my back to someone who needed it, my last dollor to a shelter, food for the food bank. My mission is to be like my mom and help as many people as I can with the means I have. Life is too short to let it go, mom always said you get what you give in life. I love my mom.

My mother passed away 5 years ago on April 12, 2005. She inspired me to look at everyone equally. If someone did or said something negative she never got upset but instead asked them, "why did you do that or say that" it really made you think about it. She always found the good things in people even when others did not.
She also when a firm believer in anyone can do anything they put their minds and heart into. So when I lost most of my vision a couple of years ago I still can hear my mom say you can do anything you wish as long as your heart is in it. So I went back to school and received my AAS degree in Accounting now I am working my BS degree thanks Mom.

  • My mom has been an inspiration to me, teaching me the value of reading. At 7 years old I was reading on a college level. She passed away almost 2 years ago, but her birthday is coming up March 16. She went to highschool in Panama when her dad was in the army. Being of scot/irish ancestry, she traveled a lot and even got to kiss the blarney stone! Happy birthday and happy St. Patrick's day to my beautiful Mom, Marilynn...

My Mom inspired me by always excepting people are they are and not what u want them to be, to ask a person who is down and out, "How can I help U", not say well u did it to yourself so get yourself out of it, I wish she was alive today so I could thank her for the following "There but for the grace of God goes U", I have tried to live by that and hope that I do her proud.

The woman I look up to and inspired me is my grandmother. She came here from Canada with nothing. She worked in factories and as a seamstress on the side. With my grandfather working so much she basically raised her 3 kids alone. She overcame many obstacles in her life and is an inspiration to me because I am a single mom. She passed when i was little but I still remember the stories she used to tell. I will always remember the kind and gentle person she was.

my mother was a free thinking, independent woman who taught me and my children so many things.she taught me southern cooking when i was 13yrs old and how to keep a clean home.she taught my children to be loving and kind.she also taught them to hunt and fish which they still do and remember her with love "nana" was the greatest. she always told me depend on yourself only and be strong.

What a wonderful opportunity! I know I'm not eligible, but still I want to honor my inspiring woman. My mom is an exceptional woman who has changed my life and continues to do so each and every day with loving kindness. There is no one else who will ever cheer me on or encourage me with simply an uplifting look. Thank you, Mamma, for shaping my life and filling it with sunshine.

I challenge each of you, to not only honor them on here, but if you are able to thank them this very day. =)
Long live our heroes & she-roes!

My mother is the woman who inspired me to be a better person in my life..All the hard times and heartaches she went thru while I was growing up is phoenominal..(SP) Struggling for many years with having nothing, but always making sure we were fed, clothed, and happy. Losing my brother to suicide at the age of 19, and a grandaughter at the age of 4, and still going on with life the best that she could..Her health problems now stop her from doing all the things she used to do and enjoy but always keeping a positive attitude..I have learned that no matter what life throws at you, things will always get better, one way or another..I love you mom..and I thank you...<3
