I love this time of year.  The leaves are turning into beautiful autumn colors, the air is getting colder, and the nights seem just a little bit darker.  For me, October instills that feeling of being a kid again, knowing that Halloween is right around the corner.   It’s the season for apple picking and carving pumpkins, for hay-rides and jumping in leaf piles, and considering that Halloween happens to fall upon a Friday; the potential exists for some really great parties.

Usually, I have the pleasure of trick-or-treating with my kids.  This year I’ve found myself kid-free and with an invitation to what sounds to be a very interesting party.  The only catch – I have no idea what I’m going to wear as a costume.   Yes, I do realize that it might be a little late in the game to be worrying about what I’m going to dress up as; however, I’m a natural procrastinator.  Fortunately, I do have ten days and a very active imagination… not to mention the help of great friends.

So how about it Vega’ers (Vegans?), do you have any suggestions?    Care to tell what you’re going to be wearing on the spookiest night of October?  Perhaps share a funny or scary Halloween moment?  Let’s all get in the Halloween spirit and share some stories!

I'm originally from Hong Kong and I remember when we were young my brothers went trick or treating for the first time. Almost all the families around our neighbour hood have Chinese maids who have no knowledge of Halloween. My brother knocked on one of the houses and scared the wits out of the maid, she thought she saw a ghost. My brothers said trick or treat, the maid screamed and slammed the door in their faces so they decided to throw stinky egg bomb. As they were still galavanting around the area, they saw police cars with sirens on. The police took my brothers home and it took forever for my parents to explain what halloween was all about. Couldn't stop laughing lolol
