Hi folks!
I hate to have the first item of business on the blog go up and not be celebratory or positive, but many have noticed this issue and it needs to be addressed.
Our bingo bets have been disabled for the time being. Note that this is just a temporary measure, and we expect this functionality to be back soon for everyone to enjoy.
We have found a few discrepancies in the way that our bingo bets work. These irregularities affect no other aspect of our games or our site, but in the meantime we have had to disable bingo bets until we’re sure that it is working 100% properly. We have involved our software provider in hopes that they can do maintenance on this issue and give us the green light that everything is ready to go.
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and truly hope that we’ll have all bingo bets up and running very shortly for everyone’s enjoyment.
Sincerely,
Joel – Community Manager
It seems that Yahoo! is going through some internal staffing changes and as a result, we’ve heard that our email are not successfully landing into players’ inboxes if they use Yahoo! Mail. We have heard that this is only temporary, but we want to help anyone that might be affected by this issue to continue to receive all the news and updates from BingoVega.
For those players that are using Yahoo! Mail, please observe the following steps to add us to your “safe senders” list:
- Log into your Yahoo! mailbox and click “Mail Options”
- From Mail options choose “Filters”, then “Add Filter”
- In the top row which is labelled “From” highlight “Contains” from the pull down menu
- Enter ‘myvega@news.bingovega.com’ in the adjacent text box
- Near the bottom of the page, select “Inbox” in the pull down menu “Move The Message to”
- Click the “Add filter” button again.
Also, adding ‘myvega@news.bingovega.com” to your list of contacts will help with deliverability.
We’ve had our ups and downs with Yahoo! Mail, but I would just like to thank everyone for your continued cooperation with this issue.
Alright Santa, I’m going to level with you here. I know for a fact that you read this blog. I also know that you check our Facebook fan page, read our tweets, and play at BingoVega from time to time. I haven’t wanted anything in particular for Christmas as much as I do this year, so this is my appeal to you. Please, oh please, bring us the title of Site of the Year.
I know what you’re going to say, that a present such as this can’t be made by elves or put under our tree. I completely understand that we can’t just go to a store and buy this particular gift. But honestly Santa, this gift would mean so much to all of us.
Perhaps you could leave a note for all the good boys and girls on Christmas with a gentle reminder that BingoVega has consistently made improvements during the year to benefit everyone. Maybe you and Mrs. Claus could tweet to all your elves to vote at WhichBingo this year and let the world know that you think BingoVega is the best site for your bingo fun. It’s a small gift, but would mean the world to us.
So there’s my plea, Santa. If you double check your list, you will see that we’ve all been very good this year.
Double chocolate cookies are in my cupboard, you know what to do
A quick post to update everyone on a sticky note about Bingo Vega aliases. During our migration, we merged our system with a more robust solution. Unfortunately some aliases are being rejected by the software’s back end when creating the account.
Because of this, some accounts have a “_BVA” suffix added. So what we’re seeing is that, for example, an alias of “ILoveWinter” that was migrated to the new system was changed to “ILoveWinter_BVA”. I realize that it is rather unsightly, but it was necessary so that the transition was to be smooth and successful.
So in the case that you cannot login using your usual alias, please try using the “_BVA” suffix at the end of your log in name. Please feel free to contact support so that they can change your alias to one that you’re happy with, yet also unique in our merged system.
We’re very sorry for the inconvenience of having to do so, and hope that everyone is satisfied with any name changing resolutions that support can offer.
Joel
Hello everyone,
I have some wonderful news that I can’t wait to tell the community about. No, I’m not volunteering to rake your leaves for you (although this could be negotiated), and I only have a limited supply of candy to give out to trick or treaters in my neighbourhood; but the great news is that I would like to formally introduce everyone to two members of our team, Aurea and May.
Aurea and May come to us with tonnes of experience and excitement to serve our community and promote the culture at Vega that we’ve all grown to love. Aurea is our support supervisor extraordinaire and the recent improvements in support that I’m sure we’ve all noticed is thanks to Aurea and her outstanding team. Aurea will also take over escalated support issues such as Hallmanager email and direct questions asked that need a little more TLC. If anyone has concern or questions and there is the need for elevation in any issue, Aurea can be reached by emailing hallmanager@bingovega.com
Another more than welcome addition is May. May is an absolute joy and along with Aurea it is my pleasure to welcome her to the team. May will be taking up the reins of managing our chat team and making sure that our players receive the best of experiences while playing bingo and chat games at Bingo Vega. Join me in saying, “Welcome aboard, May!”.
So where does this leave Joel? Quite simply, I’m not going anywhere! I love Vega and I love the relationships that have developed between myself, the Vega team, and our fantastic community. I will be taking on a new role as the Community Manager. Along with keeping everyone connected to the going ons at Vega through the blog, Facebook fan page, and Twitter, I will be constantly thinking of ways to engage the community. Working closely with all of our departments, it will be my job to encourage and foster the discussion of all things Vega. I encourage all players to contact me if there’s anything on your minds, or just in the case of wanting to say hi. I can always be reached at joel@bingovega.com. I am very excited to be part of our family, and can’t wait for the good things that will come for everyone with these changes.
Let’s all show our support and give a warm welcome to Aurea and May!
Joel

Gooooood morning Vega!
I know that there have been a few rough patches within the last week, but thanks to our bleary eyed tech team (sorry guys), we are seeing a lot of light at the end of the tunnel. Along with the new and improved funding options that we’ve all had the opportunity to take advantage of, we’re also welcoming a new tool which we know will be embraced by our wonderful community.
Starting today, we’re rolling out a brand new BB crediting tool that will put the responsibility back into the hands of our amazing CM team and will credit your chat game bonuses to your account all that much quicker. Here’s the breakdown of how this amazing new tool works:
- Chat games are played as usual – only players who have purchased cards will be able to receive BBs
- At the end of the CM’s shift, they will submit their list of players who have won bonuses for games played on the respective game ids.
- The list is submitted to our support team who will then verify that all players are receiving the correct amount of BBs
- Your account is then credited any applicable bonus bucks
We hope that everything is very smooth with the process, and you will be able to see a marked improvement for getting the bonuses that you’ve won. It’s with much excitement and pleasure to bring you a new and improved way to collect your BBs and to announce just one more way that we’re working to make Vega the best online bingo experience!
Sincerely,
Joel
Hi everyone. As we try to put this week behind us and gear up for the weekend I would just like to give you another update on an issue that we’re working around the clock to fix. For the folks that love to play at night, we have had some problems with the crediting of the Night Owl tournaments. This is an issue that we’ve been putting a lot of energy and attention into to try to get everything working as intended.
We have been in contact with our software provider to help with a fix, and we’re proud to say that we should be able to credit all winners of this tournament by the end of the day today. We are also going to be implementing a very handy tool that our support can use to credit these in a more timely fashion.
Our apologies to all those winners that were affected by this, and I’d like to assure you that this will we rectified as quickly as possible and we can look forward to a better experience with receiving Night Owl tournament winnings.
Sincerely,
Joel
Let’s talk about the bad first, because the good news is GREAT.
Talk about having a bad day. As you’ve probably collected, our server migration didn’t go as smoothly as we had hoped yesterday. We understand that we have let down our community by over promising on the best case scenario as to the hours in which Vega would be unavailable. If I can speak for the Vega team, I would just like to express my sincerest apologies for the extended maintenance, and the lapse of communication while we tried to get everything running as quickly as possible.
Now time for some GREAT news:
- the site is back and running our new stallion (hello Stallion)
- a new cashier page with new Easy Funding Options (yeah baby, as promised)
- all games are working properly
Here’s what we’re working on:
With a change as big as this, we’re working on diligently on the following items
- we’re working with our software provider and will have the progressive figures back to pre-change
- tournament page
- and other promotional material on the site
During this time, you may come across a few “none working” links, we’re aware of these and will be fixing these pages as well.
To recap, I would like to answer the question of where we are right now. As of this current moment, all games are working properly, funding and withdrawals are available, and our whole team is focused on making everything right and moving toward a very exciting future at Vega. We realize that with the issues that we had yesterday, key features of the site did not play such as the Second Chance room and Team Bingo. As we’ve always done in the past, we would like to make it up to all players that were affected by this unforeseen cancellation by hosting our Second Chance room tomorrow (Wednesday October 20th) at 6pm est. Fans of Team Bingo will be able to experience the rush of competition by joining us on Thursday night (October 21st) for the missed round of Team Bingo.
It has been a rough 30 hours since we started the migration of our servers. I cannot express how appreciative I am to our fabulous community for having the patience and understanding while we make things better at Vega. Although there is much work to be done, we fully believe that this is just a minor setback that comes with the ultimate goal of being the best online bingo community.
Deepest thanks,
Joel

As we all know, downtime and server problems are a fact of the Internet. From small sites to major online presences, no one is immune to having their systems fail. We understand this very well, as we’ve had our share of boxing matches with our server in the past. However, like a well-loved family pet, we had to make the tough decision to finally put our old server to sleep.
But mourn not, dear roomies, because as we’re putting our old friend to dream an endless dream, we’re welcoming some new hardware with improved features. We can all look forward to better server performance, decreased downtime, and a better, smoother experience for all. It will be the same Vega as we’ve always enjoyed, only without the problems that we’ve endured in the past.
Speaking from the heart, I’d like to send my final farewell to our old server, “Pony”.
“To my dear beloved Pony,
It is true that I loved you from the minute that I saw you. You whirred, clicked, and clanked your way into all of our hearts. Although at times you acted up and needed to be sent to your room for time-outs, again and again, I admired your endurance and optimism.
Please do not take it too badly that we’re going to put you out to pasture. Understand that our time has ended and we both need to move on to bigger and better things. As of Monday, your younger brother “Stallion” will be hosting the Vega sites, and with that we know Stallion will offer us all a smoother and faster ride. Your name will be forever written in the annals of Vega, although I can’t say for certain that you will be missed.
Love Joel”
We will be having a memorial service for our old server on Monday, October 18th from 7am – 9am est. During this time the Vega sites will experience downtime so that we can get our shiny new servers up and running and put our old problems to rest. We apologize to all for the inconvenience during this time, but are confident that we will be seeing much better days with our new hardware moving forward.
Sincerely,
Joel – Hall Manager
