Open for Discussion – Bingo Room Open to all Members

Hi All, Joel here again. I was contacted by Bingo Vega member LFA7747 recently and she had a legitimate opinion regards the opening of all rooms to all members. Since this is something on the minds of others, I wanted to share my response to her as it may be of value to you.

LFA7747′S COMMENT TO ME:

HEY JOEL I AM LINDA LFA7747 AND I AM VERY UP SET WITH VEGA RIGHT NOW, BECAUSE I SPOKE OUT IN THE LOBBY ABOUT VEGA OPENING UP OUR ROOMS TO NON DEPOSITERS THIS IS UNFAIR TO US DEPOISTERS CAUSE YOU NO WE LOSE OUR MONEY WHEN THEY WIN. YOU NO ITS NOT FAIR TO US,YOU HAD A ROOM FOR THEM TO PLAY IN. I UNDERSTAND THAT YALL WANNA GET MORE PLAYERS BUT HOW WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF YOU WAS LAUGH AT BY NO HARD LOSE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY TOO, SO NOW MY ACCOUNT HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN DO YOU THINK THAT’S RIGHT TOO, BUT DO YOU KNOW THIS IS WRONG AND MORE PLAYERS WILL CATCH ON HOW VEGA IS CHEATING THEM OUT OF THEIR MONEY TOO. CAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE VEGA DONT CARE ALL THE FREE MONEY THEY PASS OUT HELPS NEW NON DEPOSITER TO TAKE OURS HARD EARNED MONEY. TIMES ARE HARD TOO ON US. BUT I WILL SAY THIS LOOK AT THIS FROM MY SIDE HOW WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF 10 NEW NON DEPOSIT PLAYERS COME IN AND THEY KEPT WINING EVERY GAME WE LOSE BUT VEGA GAINS CAUSE VEGA GETS OUR MONEY

MY RESPONSE IS BELOW:

Hi Linda,

Thanks for contacting me and sorry to hear that we’ve upset you. That’s horrible and we’re sorry. It’s never fun having one of our valuable members upset.

I understand your point of view on this.  When we  decided to open vega that was a big concern for us too. Unfortunately there are times we’re faced to make decisions that fail to please ALL of our members. But I believe, opening vega’s room to all, benefits the community in the long term.

I’ll do my best to explain how.

First, we’ve committed to have the rooms accessible to all members as a test run to see the impact it has on  newbies and our regular members. Please rest assure, we’re monitoring this very closely to ensure it benefits the community as a whole. And if in the next few weeks, the data we analyze shows otherwise, we’ll re-consider.

But for now, here’s why:

  1. First, Vega believes in transparency and openness. We believe, blocking off access to new members sends the wrong message that they’re not welcomed. Our goal is to build Bingo Vega as not just a bingo site, but an online community where people who share a common like for bingo can meet others, build relationships and win good size pots in a safe and secure environment.
  2. Second, we believe, by allowing new members to join the fun in all rooms, does help increase the pot size for regular members, giving you a chance to win bigger prizes at vega.
  3. Third, although the percent of newbies taking wins from regular member is very low, we’ve put in a policy that if a big game like a PJ or any game prize over $500 is won by a newbie using their trial money will be put back into the system or played again for paying members.
  4. And lastly, we’ve committed to launch a new room in the future exclusively for our pay to play members.

I hope, my explanation does give you a better understanding as to why we made the difficult decision to open access to all members. As I mentioned above, we’re monitoring this for a short period and if we conclude this hurts the entertainment experience for our members, we’ll re-consider.

In the meantime, I invite you, to share any ideas and suggestions how we can improve your experience at vega.

ps. To clarify, your account hasn’t been disabled by our staff, the system disabled your account because of concerns of multiple account. If you have any additional accounts please let our staff know and we’ll happily close the non-active accounts, so you can be clear of any multiple account violations.

I’d like to invite everyone else, to share your thoughts in the comment box below. Thanks.

Google Has Gone Haywire. Hang On.

[UPDATE 12:20PM EST] – google has fixed the issue and offered this explanation: human error. : ) … it goes to show you, google is human too.

Hi All, just wanted to give you the heads up that Google (as of this writing) is having a major problem, listing all sites on the net including their own as potential “harmful to your computer”. This is definitely a boo-boo on Google’s part, a quick work around is to use other search engines like Yahoo! or even omg MSN Live search ! : )

This goes to show you, even companies the size of Google are not perfect and make mistakes. Will be interesting to hear Google explain this one to the WORLD :)

Bingo Vega Mascot

[UPDATE 12:12PM EST]

Hi All, Beth again!

I want to start off with a big THANK YOU for all of the great suggestions!

The new mascot will be…. (drum roll)

TAH DAH – Troll Doll  (thank you to clumzyazz for first suggestion)

Thank you all again, we will keep you updated on another blog post to come…

Hi All, Beth here : )… Great news and something I’m really excited about – in the weeks to come, I’ll be slowly moving into my new role at Bingo Vega as Your Community Manager!

It kinda sounds like a fancy title, well, it’s one that I think we’ll be of great value to you, our loyal players.   I will be keeping you updated on my new role in the upcoming blog posts. :)

I’m writing to ask for your help.  As you know, we’ve got big plans for the Vega community in 09 and to ensure we’re able to deliver on our promise to you, I’m going to need all the help I can get it – your feedback and possibly the help of a Bingo Vega community mascot!

Yes that’s right – we need a mascot for Vega that can help jazz up our community, help us to further spoil you, and be there to lend a helping hand to make BingoVega a friendlier community.

So put on your thinking caps and let’s come up with a great mascot together, all suggestions are welcome.

Do you have a New Year’s resolution?

Every new year we make resolutions to change aspects of ourselves we feel are negative, be it breaking a bad habit such as smoking or making an effort to be more active. However, a majority of us revert back to how we were before and experience the feeling of failure.

Yet it doesn’t have to be that way. I’m a firm believer that with the support of family, friends,  and some hard work; anything is possible. That’s why, this year, I’d like to invite you to share your New year’s resolution with the rest of the community and everyone at Bingo Vega can work together to help one other to stick through with our goal.

Here’s how:

  1. Share your new year’s resolution below in the comment box
  2. Follow the SMART tips below from Life Hacker (see below)
  3. 21 days from now, I’ll write a follow-up post and we can all update one other on our goals

The S.M.A.R.T. System:

  1. Specific. Don’t just say “Lose weight.” Decide to “Lose 12 pounds.”
  2. Measurable. Instead of “Be better about corresponding with old friends,” decide to “Send out birthday and holiday cards to my high school friends.”
  3. Achievable. “Be the perfect employee/mom/sister/spouse” is an admirable goal, but nobody’s perfect, no matter how resolved they are. Make your resolution something that’s possible—like, “Improve next year’s performance review by at least one grade.”
  4. Realistic. You’ve only got so many hours in the day, so make your goals realistic based on what resources and tools you’ve got on hand. Learning how to milk a cow, for example, is less realistic for someone who lives in the middle of Manhattan.
  5. Timely. Since these are New Year’s resolutions, set goals you can reach at most within the next 12 months. Giving yourself a “deadline” of sorts will help you figure out where you should be when while tracking your progress.
